YPS bagged All India IPSC Hockey Trophy

All India IPSC Hockey Tournament (Boys U-17) has grown over the years to include teams exhibiting stronger level of play and high calibre of talent in sports. YPS hosted the tournament this year and proved their mettle. Yadvindrians bagan with a roaring start and maintained their winning spree throughout the tournament and clinched the winning title of the fast, furious and physically challenging game. YPS boys were fierce in their strike and shooting the puck in opponent’s net.

The following were the participating teams:

  1. The Lawrence School, Sanawar
  2. The Punjab Public School, Nabha
  3. The Scindia School, Gwalior
  4. K. Birla Centre for Education, Pune
  5. K. Singhania Education Centre, Gotan, Rajasthan
  6. Yadavindra Public School, Patiala

 

 YPS Hockey ground witnessed two exciting matches on the opening day. In their opening match, Scindia School, Gwalior and B.K. Birla Centre for Education, Pune set the ground ablaze with their performances. After an enthralling match, Scindia School defeated B.K. Birla by 7-6.

In another match, YPS, Patiala had an easy victory over L.K. Singhania, Gotan. YPS won by 6-2.

On the second day of the tournament, audiences observed altogether different matches as in both matches the winning teams secured an easy victory over the opponents.

After losing their first closely fought encounter, B.K. Birla entered back in the tournament with a bang.  B. K. Birla routed Lawrence School by scoring sensational 10-1.

L.K. Singhania defeated P.P.S. Nabha. In the semi -finals, YPS defeated P.P.S Nabha by sensational 13-0 and did not let them open their score, reserving their place in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, they had a walkover against B.K.Birla by 7-1 and  crushed L.K.Singhania in deciding match by scoring 3-1.

Yadvindrians lifted the All India IPSC Hockey Trophy by defeating L.K.Singhania in the finals. They showed scintillating performance and scored three field goals to clinch the winning title. On other hand, the opponents retaliated with just one goal.

The closing match was followed by prize distribution. YPS raised the trophy with pride as they had remained undefeated throughout the tournament.

All the teams exhibited a thrilling and engrossing sport. Some teams dominated their opponents and didn’t even let them open their score, while others faced cut throat competition in their game. Altogether, it was power packed tournament.
