Cycling is a great fitness sport and when it is done for a social cause, it gains more prominence. Our school cyclists pedalled to promote Royal City Patiala’s heritage and for making it a greener and cleaner city.
11 students along with 7 teachers took part in Cycling Rally organised by Patiala administration for promoting royal heritage of the city as a part of Cultural Heritage Festival 2019. Whereas, two groups of 50 students and 11 teachers went cycling as a part of IAYP (International Award for Young People) activity of the school. The idea behind organising this rally was to promote green and clean environment. The cyclist covered more than 50 Kms. The expedition started at 6:30 in the morning. While Pedalling through lush green fields of villages, they also visited Karhali Sahib Gurudwara to offer morning prayer.
The students of YPS IAYP club actively participate in such programmes which enhance their skills like time management, team work, problem solving and also develops sense of empathy. Overall, it was a great amalgamation of sports and community service.
