The students and teachers of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala successfully completed their 8 days Camping and Trekking in the mountainous region of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand on April 20. All the students of class Prep II- XII took part in this mandatory activity of the school through Camps, Treks and an Adventure camp held in the school campus.

After assessing knowledge and proficiency in studies last month, Yadavindrians pulled up their socks for an adventurous week. As many of 870 students and 60 teachers went for camping and trekking in mountainous region of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand on April 13-20. Total number of 17 camp and trek groups explored the wilderness for almost a week. All the groups set off their journey from April 13 onwards.

All the students of class IV-XII took part in this mandatory activity. The students of class IV-VI enjoyed camping at beautiful regions of Himachal Pradesh like Mashobra, Barog and Kufri, the students of class VII-XII experienced the rigours and thrill of this adventurous sport through trekking in the highest regions of Himachal and Uttrakhand like Kuari Pass, Jalori Pass, Har ki Doon, etc. for 8 days.

Apart from these groups, an Adventure camp was organised for children of Prep II – class III. This camp was put up by Rocksport Adventure Camp, New Delhi. Around 400 students participated in this camp. The well trained instructors of the camp helped students perform various sports like Zip Line, Commando net, Dragon move, Burma bridge, Commando crawl, Magical maze, Sport climbing, etc. All the students actively and happily took part in all these games.

At YPS, our purpose is not just to impart education from books, but also to let the children explore their own hidden potential by taking part in other activities. Camps and treks are mandatory activities for all the staff and students of the school and is practised every year with great sports spirit.
