Yadavindra Public School hosted the 17th Dhruve Pandove Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament from April, 12-15. This tournament is held in memory of former Punjab Ranji Trophy player, Dhruve Pandove, who was also former YPS student.

Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur ADC (Gen) presided over opening ceremony on April 12 as special guest and declared the Tournament open. In her address she prevailed upon the young minds to stay away from taking short cuts in life and live a fair, honest and healthy life.

The tournament started with great enthusiasm at YPS stadium. The teams from 12 top public schools from across India reserved their slots earlier to win the prestigious trophy held during the ongoing Platinum Jubilee Year of YPS, Patiala.

All the teams were divided into four different pools i.e.: A, B, C and D. The matches were played on league/Knock out basis. All the teams showcased their splendidly nimble and spirited performance. They battled hard against each other in their league matches but only YPS (PATIALA), MNSS (RAI), MODERN SCHOOL (DELHI) and THE SCINDIA SCHOOL (GWALIOR) could make it to the semi-finals.

Later, after the knock out stage of semi-finals, only Modern School and YPS made their way to the final battle. They locked horns in finals and competed well with each other. After an amusing and gripping match, Modern School managed to take The Trophy back home.

The tournament was played with true sportsman spirit, excitement, thrill, discipline, cooperation and hard work by YPS.
