This conference emphasised on the theme of netiquettes and cybersecurity. It guided the attendees and delegates on ways of protecting themselves and others online from cyber-attacks, bullying etc. Children pretend to be adults online and are advanced in technology these days but mentally and physiologically are still children, hence they have a higher chance of being affected by the above mentioned problems.
Although the concept of netiquettes is quite vast and does not comprise of a definite set of rules, but some of the learnings from this conference were-
1.Back up online and offline files regularly and securely.
Manage social media profiles.
Strengthen your home network.
4.Check privacy and security settings.
Keep your software updated.
Use strong and different passwords for each account and website.
Think before posting on social media and respect each other’s privacy.
8.Whilst doing online shopping do not save your credit card data unless the site is well credited and legitimate.
9.Corroborate the data you have taken from a website to see if it's correct.
Considering the fact that there is approximately 500 hours of content being posted on YouTube and 28000 subscribers watching Netflix each minute, indicating the excessive use of social media, netiquettes become all the more necessary to be abided by.
