ORATORY SKILLS……..DEBATES AND RECITATIONS

Debates and Recitations holds a special significance in developing Public speaking confidence in
children. Debating deepens and encourage critical thinking among students and Recitation involves
public manifestation of thoughts. To enhance these oratory skills among students, two different
competitions were held in the school.
The senior wing (IX-XII) students took part in Inter house Hindi Debate competition. The topics for
debate were based on relevant social issues like unemployment, increasing trend of overseas
admission in youngsters, Robot and technology dependency, etc. The debaters of Mohindra House
won the word battle whereas, Dhani Ram House and Phulkian House secured IInd and IIIrd positions.
Similarly, our Junior Yadavindrians amazed everyone with their impressing Language proficiency in
Punjabi Poem recitation. The shortlisted students of class IV and V recited different poems on topics
of their choice like ਮਾਂ , ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ , ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰ , ਸਲੀਕਾ , ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ. The winners
were felicitated with the certificates of appreciation.
