A young Rhymist of YPS, Patiala bagged Ist position in a poetry competition. Saina Gupta of XI- Humanities had participated in ‘Splash Literati’, a poetry competition organised by Sunbeam school, Varanasi. It was an AFS event where several other schools participated. The topic was ‘Hues of Life’ and Saina composed this poem in an allotted time of just 30 minutes. Hues of Life If life were a prism, Put under a ray of light, Unlike the seven coloured rainbow It would split into a million hues all dark and bright, A single glance of the warm amber sun And the soothing salmon skies, Are enough to Calm and quiet Monday mornings blues, Or even the cries of a broken heart. There is always a silver lining of stars When engulfed by grey gloomy storms To each white there is a black. And what is black always carries some white such are the wonder of the hues of life.
