YPS, Patiala girls’ hockey team is an inspiration to all. They have won all the matches in the recently held Hockey tournament. YPS, Patiala hosted Six-a-Side Hockey for Girls U-19 tournament after the Annual Sports Day this month. YPS girls competed against YPS, Mohali in their first match and won the match by 7-0 to brace their team for further successes.
Later, the girls played against the PPS, Nabha team. The score 6-2 which again showed their dominance over the opposite teams. The last and deciding match was the highlight of the tournament as the YPS girls showed a scintillating performance with their sticks. The last match was played against The Modern School, Barakhamba Road. The YPS team didn’t let their opponents hit their net even once. YPS, Patiala won the tournament by 23-0.
Sifet Sidhu was awarded as Best Goalkeeper. Sifet kaur bagged the highest scorer of the tournament by hitting 14 goals. Arshpreet kaur won the Promising Player of the Tournament award.
