At YPS, we believe language proficiency plays a vital role in success as it allows us to express and communicate most impressively. The language departments of the school organize various events to enhance the language skills of the students.
The English department organized one such activity for the Senior wing classes (IX-XII). The event was Creative Writing competition. Ditching the usual pattern of the competition, this time the students were given plots instead of topics. The different plots were explained in a form of paragraphs and they had to weave a story in connection with that plot.
A few workshops were conducted by Mrs. Arshdeep Kaur Mangat, Head of Department, English, a few days before the competition. The idea was to apprise them about effective writing styles of the language.
Such competitions are part of co-curricular activities which are organized periodically to gauge and escalate students’ potential.
