Yadavindra Public School, Patiala celebrated its 74th Annual Academic Day on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the school auditorium. The event was held to felicitate the achievers of the academic year 2022-23. The board members of YPS, Patiala, teachers and proud parents of the achiever students were present to witness the event.
Lt Gen Chetinder Singh (Retd), Member, YPS Board of Governors, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event started on a spiritual note with a musical presentation. Thereafter, the Chief Guest gave a zestful start to the event by lighting the lamp. This ceremony was followed by a school song by the school choir and a captivating Ganesh stuti dance.
The present Head Boy Uday Batra and Head Girl Samaira Singh presented the Senior school report. The Deputy Head Boy Karaninder Singh and Deputy Head Girl Innayat Kaur played a major role in conducting the event. The Junior school report was presented by Ivaana and Fatehsher Singh Virk. The report showcased the hard work and achievements of students in various fields like academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
YPS Director, Maj Gen BS Grewal, VSM (Retd.) addressed the gathering and lauded the efforts put in by the staff and students. The chief guest, Lt Gen Chetinder Singh congratulated all the young achievers. He applauded the efforts put in by the teachers and the students in the successful conduct of the event. He advised students to follow a disciplined lifestyle and never give up attitude in life.
The students were felicitated with awards of the Platinum category in academics, and medals for best performers in subject-wise and cultural activities. Trishleen Kaur bagged a maximum of 6 awards, which includes the most illustrious awards like the Yadavindra Gold Medal and Dr Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.15,000/, S. Harnam Singh Bal Maths Genius Award of Rs.7500/- and Sardar Harmeet Singh Batra Gold medal for standing first in ISC(Commerce). Hinam Walia, also won 3 prestigious school awards which include Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First (ISC), Gurnam Singh Memorial Medal for Best Result in ISC(Humanities).
Divroop Kaur Sandhu of the ICSE batch was felicitated with 4 awards which include the Aitchison Yadavindra Old Boys Medal for Standing First in ICSE and Dr Karansher Sidhu Trophy and Scholarship of Rs.11,000/-.
Seerat Sidhu received a Special Award for being the first YPS student to join Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute.
The Best All-Round Student Trophy of Junior School was bagged by Dhruvi Garg and Pareena Jolly.
A musical presentation (western) and a vibrant and energetic dance mesmerised the audience with their performance. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
